A graphic outlines community participation levels, from observer to volunteer.

📣 Planning to Volunteer at a school level event? Attend Field Day in May? Volunteer requirements!

OBSERVERS:
If you want to attend an event as an observer that does not pose the potential to interact and/or supervise students (awards ceremonies, etc.) you do not need volunteer training. Field trips are NOT observer events and DO require volunteer status and background checks.

VOLUNTEER / PARTICIPANTS:
RSS has two tiers of volunteers.
Tier I is required to submit a volunteer interest form and background screening. Get the link for the background screening at the school when turning in your completed interest form.
Tier II is required to complete the Tier I process and attend a volunteer training session. Both tier levels assume potential interaction with and supervision of students, which is why training and background screening are required.
RSS VOLUNTEER TRAINING FOR TIER II: *In-person sessions
Turn in the interest form and complete registration at the designated school for that training session.
